"Important" is not always easy to define. It's different for everyone. Your step-grandfather used to emphasize that a child's play was a child's work -- it's how a child learns and deserves every bit as much respect as someone's job. Play is also important to being a healthy person. A life without play ... well. I suppose people live those lives, but I'd rather do without a lot of material things, even some security, than do without play. What's a life without laughter and fun?
